#CreativeGoodness Linky Party – December 18th

Creative Goodness at QuiltShopGal

~ Create ~ Share ~ Inspire ~ #CreativeGoodness ~

Welcome to our final #CreativeGoodness linky party. All forms of creativity are appreciated, including tutorials, recipes, tips, projects in progress or completed projects.

Thank you to everyone who shared their creativity this past week. In the spirit of fun and fast projects for decorating your home for the holidays and/or for gifts, I want to heighten awareness of a great tutorial shared by Susan of Super Mom – No Cape.  She shows how to cover a tissue box with holiday fabric that is so cute.  What a great way to dress up a tissue box.

Reindeer-Tissue-Box-Cover

Of course Susan’s tutorial would work for decorating tissue boxes of any size, for any season, any home or office decor.  And, I think for those that enjoy free-motion quilting you could adapt this tutorial to use your FMQ practice sandwiches too! Way cool.  I’m already looking forward to using up some Valentine’s Day theme fabric, but this weekend I’m stitching some tissue box covers with Christmas fabric, from my stash.

Another fun and fast project I’m making this weekend are embroidered Dish Towels, using designs from Angie Stevesen of Lunch Box Quilts.  Want to join me in my #StitchAlong this weekend and make some fun and fast projects?  Follow me on instagram and also check back tomorrow as I’ll share more insights.

Do you have any fun and fast projects to recommend for making handmade items to decorate your home or for gifts?  Please share if you do.

Here is the linky tool for our #CreativeGoodness Party this week. I do hope you’ll share your creativity with us. The more sharing the more fun we all have.

#CreativeGoodness Linky Party – December 11th

~ Create ~ Share ~ Inspire ~ #CreativeGoodness ~

Welcome to another week of #CreativeGoodness sharing in our linky party. All forms of creativity are appreciated, including tutorials, recipes, tips, projects in progress or completed projects.

Thank you to everyone who shared their creativity this past week. Plenty of great projects, all packed with inspiration.  Linda’s table topper, which she made using a 60 degree ruler, caught my attention. Total #CreativeGoodness.  While many have shared beautiful holiday projects, it really made me wonder about all the handmade holiday decorations everyone may have in their home.

For the holiday decorations in your home, did you make them all or were some gifts?  What are your favorite holiday colors ?

Don’t forget that for the next few weeks, I’m hosting two different linky parties:

  • #CreativeGoodness Linky Parties will continue to be hosted every week, with new parties released each Friday.  All forms of creativity is welcome and every month 5 participants will be randomly selected to receive “surprise prizes” that are typically handmade items, or items that you can use to make things (e.g. books, patterns, supplies, etc.).
  • #NightsBeforeChristmas Party is like a virtual Open House, with giveaways, freebies and tutorials all with a Christmas and/or Winter Holiday theme.  The Open linky party will be included in every blog post for this theme and you can link up any giveaway, freebie or tutorial you wish so long as it has a Christmas or Winter Holiday theme.  And, the more you share the more chances you get to win prizes that will be randomly awarded on the 25th of December.

Also, next week will be our last #CreativeGoodness linky parties planned for this year.

For 2016, I’ve been thinking about what creative challenges I wanted to explore and  doodling, sketching, drawing, coloring was high on my list. As Lori Kennedy just announced a 365 Challenge for 2016, I want to encourage you to check out her post.  I will definitely be participating and hope you will join too!  Think of it as your #CreativeGoodness challenge for 2016!

Today I want to highlight a sewing project that works great to help us organize, as well as makes for excellent gifts.  What creative person wouldn’t want such a cute bag?  Don’t you agree it captures the spirit of #CreativeGoodness (Create, Share, Inspire)?

Canon1011 017

Jocelyn of Happy Cottage Quilter shared this beautiful and inspirational zippered bag with us this past week. She made it to give to a friend who was visiting.  How thoughtful and inspirational.  Yeap, this is a wonderful handmade item to make and give to friends.  If you didn’t see her post, I hope you’ll click thru to check it out.  And, while you are visiting check out her delightful blog.  She is very creative and shares her projects, tips, tutorials and inspiration on her blog (Happy Cottage Quilter). She also has an inspirational blog called  “Just A Little Southern Hospitality“, where I am always inspired by her beautiful table settings, tea parties and more.

Cynthia has a delightful blog where she shares her creative projects, tips, tutorials, inspiration and more.  I hope you click thru and check it out.

And, to heighten awareness, I’m now hosting on-going #StitchAlong that range from small sewing projects, quilts, free-motion quilting, and machine embroidery.  I post every Saturday and enjoy virtual stitching with others.  I’ve also invited those participating in these virtual sewing events, to share their progress (vs just sharing completed projects) in our weekly #CreativeGoodness Linky Parties, but they can also share via any social media tool using the hashtag #StitchAlong.
