Welcome to our first #CreativeGoodness Linky Party in February, where we have the optional theme of Reds, Pinks, Valentines, but anything creative is welcome!  These weekly linky parties are all about Creating, Sharing and Inspiring – any form of creativity!  And, periodically we will have some surprise prizes every month.

Followers probably already know our next round of  “surprise prizes” is sponsored by F&W Media.  They are sponsoring a standalone giveaway this month for a copy of The Art of Mistakes.  And, they have also donated a copy that will be randomly awarded to one lucky participant in our weekly #CreativeGoodness Linky Parties.

Plus, there will be four more surprise giveaways, which I will either hand make or purchase.  All the prizes will be awarded sometime this month. I’m just trying to balance my schedule with my objective of keeping these #CreativeGoodness Linky Parties all about creating, sharing and inspiring vs winning prizes, so I like the “surprise prizes” on a monthly basis.  Plus, with 5 winners every month, that is a little better than weekly prizes.

Every time you participate in any weekly #CreativeGoodness Linky Party you get an automatic entry to the next surprise prize drawing.  Some prizes will be from sponsored prizes and some will be things that I hand make, or purchase, but they will be randomly awarded to participants, sporadically, and shipped as surprises.  A little way to say thank you to those that share that creativity and inspire others.  Followers may see “sneak peaks” about the prizes, in various blog posts too!

Creative Goodness at QuiltShopGal

Thank you for those who shared their favorite #CreativeGoodness projects last week.  They were all inspirational and packed with Creative Goodness. Mary (Quiltin’ Grandma) shared that she is working on creating some patterns, which will be available soon.  Many of you know that I love to encourage everyone to “Make Money With Your Skills” and enjoy hearing when you release your new designs too!  She will also be teaching several classes at the Walla Walla Sew in Vac, and it looks like she’ll also be teaching a class for her “Rubies and Diamonds” design that she entered in the 2014 Red and White Quilt Challenge, which I hosted this past year.

While I would love to take any class with Mary, I am trying to figure out how to take a class with her for her “Rubies and Diamonds” design.  Such a beautiful quilt.  Maybe you live in the Walla Walla, Washington area and can take a class with Mary. Or, wouldn’t it be fun to get your favorite quilt shop or guild to have Mary come teach in your area?  Check out her blog to see all of her inspirational projects.

Weekly #CreativeGoodness Linky Parties are all about creating, sharing and inspiring.  Bloggers and non-bloggers are invited to participate and share any form of creativity that they wish to share.  January linky parties have an “optional” theme of: Winter Blues and Whites, Primatives, #NewGoodness and all February linky parties have the optional them of Reds, Pinks, Valentines.  As mentioned above, this week you can share anything creative that you wish to share, or choose something that you feel works with the January or February optional themes.

To join the party this week, simply click the linky tool below and follow the steps to add the url to your blog post or picture in the Flickr Group.

1) Sharing is open to old projects (old blog posts), but new projects(new blogposts) are also appreciated.  While not required, QuiltShopGal encourages participants to recognize the designers, source of patterns, websites, etc., and share any information to help those inspired to be able to create a similar project.  After all, “Inspiration” is what our linky parties are all about, as well as creating and sharing.

2) Non-bloggers can participate in weekly linky parties by using Flickr.com and uploading a photo of their projects to a Flickr group “CreativeGoodness.  They can upload as many photos as they want to share to this Flickr group, but they are only allowed to link 5 photos to the linky party (any weekly linky party). And, once they’ve lined a photo they can not share that link in future linky parties.  Links shared must also fit the weekly theme for the respective weekly linky party.

3) When you join one of these linky parties, you automatically give me approval to snag a picture from your post, whereby I can share it in a future post with a link on my blog to highlight your project.  To clarify, each week I will happily showcase a participant from the prior weeks’ linky party.

A new linky party will be hosted on QuiltShopGal every Friday.  I hope you’ll come join the fun.

This week, as well as for all future linky parties, any #CreativeGoodness sharing will always be welcome regardless of the theme.  You decide.  But each month will have a theme where you can share anything you feel fits the theme in any of the linky parties that month.  Tutorials are also very welcome.  You decide what you want to share, what type of creative project you want to inspire others with, and you will never be limited to a theme.  But, at the same time, there will be opportunities to share themed projects.

BLOG MIGRATION UPDATE: I’m continuing to work on cleanup of the migration, but my most recent learning was that the original “follow me via email” widget was only taking email signups for those that have a wordpress account.  I’ve now added another widget that allows non-wordpress users (and wordpress users) to sign up to receive email updates via Feedburner.  Of course, I love followers so I hope you’ll sign up to follow via email, but anyway you follow is also appreciated.

  1. THANKS for the extra promotion of my Quilt and Blog. I plan to have the Rubies and Diamonds quilt on display at EE Schenks Trends in Portland in March. I’d love to have you take my class too. Today I have lots of Quilty goodness on the Blog to share. #CreativeGoodness
